Meet the Dentists

Cindy Sheppard, DDS

Dr. Cindy Sheppard graduated from Wake Forest University and then from Baylor College of Dentistry. After graduation, she returned to the dental school to teach. Soon after, she and Dr. Ernie married and she moved to Oklahoma.

Dr. Cindy has served on the boards of Marie Detty Youth Services and the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra as well as being involved in PTA and serving as president while their children were young. In her spare time, Dr. Cindy enjoys sewing and quilting, and has won two blue ribbons for her quilts in the Oklahoma State Fair.

Together, Drs. Ernie and Cindy have 3 children: Dr. Scott, Brooke, and Wade.

Scott Sheppard, DDS

Dr. Scott Sheppard has always enjoyed Lawton and SW Oklahoma. He graduated from Eisenhower High School as valedictorian and went on to receive his BBA in management, as well as minors in chemistry and zoology, from the University of Oklahoma. He then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. Thereafter, Dr. Sheppard joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, where he taught removable and fixed prosthodontics for a year. Dr. Scott joined Sheppard Family Dental Care in the summer of 2016 and has introduced several new insights and techniques to the practice.

Dr. Sheppard has served locally on the Lawton Public School Foundation Board, the YMCA Board of Directors, and the Lawton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He loves his community and is happy to do his part to ensure it thrives.

In his free time, Dr. Scott enjoys being in the Wichita Mountains and hunting, as well as staying up to date on the latest U.S. and economic news.

Meet the Team

Kristy

Administrative Assistant
Kristy joined Sheppard Family Dental care in August of 2020. She has worked in the dental field for 15 years as an insurance coordinator and front desk team member. The insurance industry can be very complex, but she will use her insurance background to help you get the most out of your insurance benefits. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, grandkids, and helping her husband on the farm.

Melanie

Dental Hygienist
Melanie graduated from Vernon College with an associate’s degree in science and then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from Midwestern State University. She started in dentistry as a dental assistant before deciding to pursue her degree in dental hygiene. She’s known for her big personality and loves helping patients achieve their oral health goals.

Marcy

Callie

Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Callie is a certified dental assistant with advanced certifications in nitrous oxide administration, coronal polishing, placement of sealants and more. She joined Sheppard Family Dental Care in 2021. She has past experience in pediatric and oral surgery, but especially enjoys General dentistry. She is known for her patient care as well as her sense of humor. Away from the office, she gardens, and spends time with her family and 2 Labs.

Hannah

Dental Assistant
Hannah is a graduate of Platt College for dental assisting and is certified in the management of nitrous oxide administration, coronal polishing, and placement of sealants. She started with the practice in 2016 after being a patient herself since 1999. She loves watching movies, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. Her goal is to ease the patient's anxiety and help them have a great experience.

Nicole

Dental Assistant
Nicole joined Sheppard Family Dental Care team in May 2023. She has been in the Dental field for since 2019 as a dental assistant and is certified in coronal polishing. Her ability to converse fluently in Spanish helps bridge the communication gap between the patients and our dental team, ensuring that all concerns are addressed and understood. Her compassionate nature helps alleviate any anxiety that patients may have about dental procedures. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family.
